Understanding The Law of Attraction and Your Internal Guidance System
You Are a Powerful Creator
The self you think of as "you" is only a small part of your total being. The greater part of you exists in non-physical form; some people call it the soul, the inner-being, the higher self, etc.
I like to call it the Greater Self. The world and everything in it provides you with unlimited opportunities to define your preferences. Anytime you are exposed to something that you find to be less than ideal, your Greater Self, the largest part of your consciousness, goes into action. It responds to the situation by creating, in non-physical form, something that would be ideal for you. This new creation actually becomes part of your Greater Self, included in its energy field.
Like Attracts Like
The Law of Attraction works on the principle that "like attracts like". Therefore, the circumstance, event, or thing that matches the new creation is magnetized to your Greater Self. However, your Greater Self is not your only point of attraction. The part of your consciousness that's focused here in physical form (what you think of as "you") is also attracting. If what you're focusing on matches the energy of your Greater Self, then the newly created event, circumstance, or thing will be magnetized to you and will come into your physical experience. If what you're thinking and feeling does not match the energy of your Greater Self, then what will be magnetized to to your physical self are events, things, and circumstances that match the energy of what you are thinking and feeling. How do you know whether or not your energy matches the energy of your Greater Self? Simple. You can tell by how you feel.
Internal Guidance System
Your emotions are the key to an amazingly simple guidance system set up between you and your Greater Self. Most of us are aware of the idea that our thoughts create our reality. But it's impossible to monitor every one of our thoughts. That's where our internal guidance system comes in. Instead of trying to monitor our thoughts, we can instead pay attention to our feelings. When we are feeling anything less than good, it's because our thoughts have been focused on something we consider to be less than good. Since our feelings are caused by our thoughts, they are a perfect indication of how we are using our creative power; toward something we like, or toward something we don't like.
